Apple is planning to launch 3 new handsets this year. The company has already started working on the new iphone models and as per Apple’s track record, the company will moist likely announce the new phones in September this year. Earlier reports suggested that Apple will be launching two iphone models with an OLED display and the third iphone will have an LCD display. KGI securities analyst Ming-chi Kou in a new report reveals that iphone with LCD diplay will have a larger screen size of 6.1 inch and dual SIM support.He also revealed that price for the LCD display iphone will be lower than that of iphones with OLED screen.
According to Kou, the upcoming iphone with 6.1 inch LCD display will have dual SIM support. the model will be available in two variants, one with standard single SIM configuration and the second model will have dual SIM support. If pricing is concerned , the single SIM phone will have an estimated price between Rs. 36,000 and Rs. 42,000 in India. Where as the dual SIM model will be more expensive. Kuo states, the dual SIM 6.1 inch model will cost between Rs. 42,000 to Rs. 50,000. Kuo added that ” New dual SIM phones will create another price segment for the iphones.”
Kuo also discuss the sales goals for the 6.1 inch LCD iPhones. He shares that apple aims to sell around 100 million to 120 million units of the 6.1 inch iphone between September 2018 to September 2019. A Bloomberg report in past suggested that both the 6.1 inch and 6.5 inch iPhone will come in two variants. As per past reports, the 6.5 inch iphone can be said to be successor of iPhone X and will be called the iPhone X plus. Whereas, the third iPhone model with 5.8 inch OLED display will be launche with standard single SIM configuration. It will not have the second variant with dual SIM.
A past report from Bloomberg had revealed that Apple may be launching a dual SIM model for the 6.5-inch OLED iPhone. This means that both the 6.1-inch and 6.5-inch iPhone will come in two variants. According to past reports, the 6.5-inch iPhone will most probably be the successor of the iPhone X and will be called the iPhone X Plus. While on the other hand, the third iPhone which will come with 5.8-inch OLED display will be launched in only one single SIM variant.
