Mitchell was the last founding member still playing with the Portland, Oregon, band ideal known for its confounding rock address of the R&B music “Louie Louie.”

“We are deeply saddened by Mike’s passing. He was the kindest and most generous gentleman on the world,” drummer Dick Peterson claimed in a statement.

“Mike is irreplaceable, and he will be enormously skipped not only by us but the lovers as perfectly. Mike was a beloved for his comedic character as well as his musicianship,” Peterson added.

The Kingsmen acquired their famous standing right after their single of “Louie Louie,” which was done in a single choose with poor recording machines in 1963 and was greatly misinterpreted as owning indecent lyrics.
